Wet Relations

All of us – humans,
animals and plants –
are bodies of water, like
the rain, the river
and the oceans.

Water is not only one of the most important resources and
a prerequisite for all life, it is also a connecting element.
The hydrological cycle also flows through our bodies. As soon
as we take in water and release it again, we are intimately
interwoven with other bodies of water in a complex network.

Water connects us to other places, such as the Mediterranean,
other times, from prehistoric times to potential futures, to events
that may not yet have obviously reached us and stories of
community, identity, gender and flight.

From the Neckar to the deep sea, from permafrost to tears - these
watery conditions are both material and semiotic. They provide
impulses to say goodbye to our lived assumption of dominance over
nature and redefine our role as water bodies in times of climate crisis
and water scarcity.
